PHILIPPE SANDS FOR LE MONDE // / by sophie green

I photographed the Franco-British lawyer and writer Philippe Sands at his London based home for Le Monde. He achieved successes against the dictator Pinochet, in favor of the population of the Chagos Islands and participated in the birth of the International Criminal Court. But it is as a writer that this jurist makes the fundamental notions of human law accessible. His major current issue: the defense of the Palestinian Authority in the face of the occupation of the territories by Israel. Journalist: Valentine Faure.
